A Flydubai aircraft (FD-443) heading to Lucknow was hit by a bird on Saturday morning when it was approaching the city. Following the bird strike, the pilot carried out an emergency landing. The aircraft had 163 passengers onboard.
The flight was scheduled to reach Lucknow at 6:35 am and was expected to arrive 40 minutes late. After the bird hit, the pilot requested an emergency slot on the runway. The aircraft landed safely at Lucknow airport at 7:13 am.
Even after around six hours, the aircraft remained parked in the airport’s parking bay at 1:30 pm. Following the incident, the plane was moved from the runway to the parking bay, where a detailed technical inspection is being carried out.
The aircraft was already delayed by 48 minutes from its scheduled time. The same aircraft was scheduled to depart from Lucknow for Dubai again after an hour.
