A case has been registered after a minor girl allegedly accused a man of attempting to rape her in the Baruipur police station area of South 24 Parganas, police sources said. The accused has been identified as Samad Ali. According to the complaint, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of Baruipur Police Station.

The development comes at a time when Baruipur remains under heightened police surveillance following the recent alleged gang rape and murder of a minor girl in Suryapur, which triggered widespread outrage across West Bengal.
Police investigate latest alleged sexual assault
Police have not yet released detailed information regarding the latest case, and no official statement has been issued on the progress of the investigation. The allegations are currently under investigation, and further details are awaited.

Minor traveled to Sealdah without informing parents
The victim, a minor, hails from the Barrackpore area. Without informing her family, she had traveled to Sealdah station for unknown reasons and was wandering around the premises. The accused, Samad Ali, who was also present at Sealdah station at the time, spotted the minor alone.
After initiating a conversation, the accused allegedly lured the girl by promising her food if she accompanied him home. He then took her by train to Baruipur, where he resided in a rented house. It is alleged that the accused attempted to sexually assault the minor inside that residence.
Upon hearing the girl’s cries for help, residents gathered at the scene and rescued her. The police were immediately notified, and the accused, Samad Ali, has been arrested.
SIT begins fresh crime scene reconstruction
On the other hand, Special Investigation Team (SIT) will on Tuesday conduct a fresh reconstruction of the crime scene in the alleged gang rape and murder of a minor girl in Suryapur, South 24 Parganas, as part of its ongoing investigation.

The reconstruction will be carried out with three arrested accused, Ananda Sardar, Dibakar Mondal, and Kabir Molla. Police believe the exercise is crucial for corroborating evidence and establishing the sequence of events in the case.
