Doctor fined for throwing rice in Delhi court
Last year, Dr Chander Vibhas, who was facing a murder trial at Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court, allegedly scattered rice grains inside the courtroom before the hearing began.
The incident disrupted proceedings for around 15-20 minutes. Some lawyers reportedly described the act as black magic or witchcraft. Judge Shefali Barnala Tandon remanded him to court custody for one day and imposed a fine of ₹2,000, which he paid the same day.
