The University of Delhi (DU) has released the simulated rank list for Undergraduate (UG) admissions for the 2026–27 academic session. The list is available on the official Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal and includes over 2.06 lakh candidates who completed the preference-filling process.
According to official data, 2,18,284 candidates registered for the DU CSAS UG admission process this year, while 2,06,835 successfully submitted their programme and college preferences, making them eligible for the simulated rank list.
The ten most preferred programmes are BCom (Hons), BCom, BA (Hons) English, BA (Hons) Political Science, BA Programme (History and Political Science), BA (Hons) History, BSc (Hons) Zoology, BSc (Hons) Mathematics, BSc Programme Life Science and BA (Hons) Economics, officials told PTI.
What the simulated rank means
DU said the simulated rank list gives applicants a tentative rank based on their Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2026 scores and the programme and college preferences they submitted during the admission process.
The university has clarified that the simulated rank is only indicative and should not be treated as the final admission rank or a guarantee of admission. It is intended to help candidates assess their standing before the final seat allocation.
Preference window remains open till 4.59 pm
Candidates can still review and modify their choices by adding, deleting or rearranging programme and college preferences. Since the preference window is still open, the final rank for a programme may differ from the simulated rank currently displayed.
The deadline to make changes is 4.59 pm on 13 July.
Tie-breaker, cancellation warning
DU has also explained the tie-breaking process for candidates with identical CUET scores. If two or more candidates secure the same score, their Class 12 marks will be used to determine the final ranking.
The university has warned that any discrepancy or incorrect information in the Class 12 marks or other details submitted by a candidate could result in cancellation of candidature without prior notice. Applicants will be solely responsible for the consequences of furnishing inaccurate information.
Performance-based courses excluded
Simulated ranks have not been generated for programmes where admissions are based on performance tests rather than CUET scores. These include BA (Hons) Hindustani Music, BA (Hons) Carnatic Music, BA (Hons) Percussion Music, BSc in Physical Education, Health Education and Sports (BSc PE, HE and S), and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA).
Admissions to these programmes will be conducted through their respective performance-based selection process.
Phase 1 allotment on 16 July
According to the admission schedule, the DU CSAS UG 2026 Phase 1 seat allotment results will be announced on 16 July. Candidates allotted seats must complete the online acceptance process and confirm their admission by 18 July.
The university has advised applicants to check their simulated ranks carefully, update their preferences if required within the stipulated window and regularly monitor the official DU admission portal for further admission-related updates.
