The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026 was scheduled to be conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of Examinations on June 28, 2026, across a total of 1,028 centers in the state of Maharashtra.
Keeping in mind the malpractices in the NEET 2026 examination, all necessary security measures had been put in place by the Maharashtra State Council of Examinations.
However, today, on 27 June 2026, in the early hours of the morning, based on confidential information, the Bhiwandi Police raided a location upon learning that certain individuals possessed information regarding this question paper.
- Following this, officials from the Maharashtra State Council of Examinations were summoned for inspection and immediate verification.
- Upon verification, it was found that some of the questions in the possession of these individuals matched the question paper of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) June 2026 exam.
- Consequently, a case has been registered at the Bhiwandi Police Station.
Considering this situation, the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) scheduled to be held on 28 June 2026, is being postponed. Since the Council insists that the examination must be conducted with complete transparency under all circumstances, and believes that a thorough investigation into this matter is necessary, the examination is being postponed.
Updated information regarding the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) will be published on the official website of the Maharashtra State Council of Examinations.

Papers are being leaked by the government itself; Ambadas Danve lashes out after TET paper leak
Expressing strong anger over this paper leak, Thackeray group MLA Ambadas Danve has taken the Mahayuti government to task. Danve said,
The government itself is involved in this entire paper leak. This government cannot even conduct a simple TET examination properly. Every time papers are being leaked by the government itself and currently the entire state is running on ‘God’s mercy’.

Criticising the government’s lax administration, Danve further said,
A poor student prepares day and night for a year for the exam. But if such papers are leaked just two days before the exam, the enthusiasm of students to take the exam completely dies. This directly affects their mentality and results.

TET has been in controversy before as well
The MahaTET examination had previously been in the news due to major irregularities.
- There were allegations of a major scam in the evaluation of answer sheets.
- The investigation revealed that many candidates’ marks were illegally increased to make them eligible.
- Due to that incident, the credibility of the TET examination was already at risk.
- Now with the paper leak happening again, serious questions are being raised about the examination system.

Now the attention of the entire state is focused on who is the mastermind behind this paper leak, at exactly which stage the question paper was leaked, and who else is involved in this racket.
Meanwhile, due to the cancellation of the exam, lakhs of candidates will have to wait for a new date again, and the Education Department is likely to make an official announcement soon about when the new exam will be conducted.
