
The Monsoon Session of Parliament enters its third day on Wednesday, with the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha expected to witness a heated debate over the NEET paper leak issue.
Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday to seek a discussion on the matter.
Earlier, Rahul staged a sit-in protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence over the NEET paper leak. He was detained by police and released after about three hours at around 9 pm.
After his release, Rahul shared a video from the detention centre at Chhatrasal Stadium, saying that the entire opposition wanted the issue to be discussed in both Houses of Parliament so they could present their views.
Dharmendra Pradhan and Amit Shah should resign, and the government should apologize to the students. The police cases against the students should be dropped, and action should be taken against those who lathi-charged them.

Parliament proceedings were disrupted on the first two days of the session due to protests by the opposition over the issue. Similar disruptions are expected in both Houses on Wednesday. Meetings of both NDA and INDIA bloc MPs were also held on Tuesday ahead of the day’s proceedings.

On Tuesday, the second day of the monsoon session, a meeting of NDA and India alliance MPs was held. However, due to the opposition’s uproar, the House proceedings had to be adjourned.
Speaking outside the House, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, “We are not being allowed to speak in Parliament, and this is wrong in a democracy.”

Mallikarjun Kharge discussed the Cockroach Janata Party’s protest at Jantar Mantar in the Rajya Sabha. Kharge said, “Children gathered at Jantar Mantar; their voices are being suppressed. The government lathi-charged them.”
PM Modi addressed the media for 15 minutes at the Hans Dwar of Parliament. The PM said, “Whether it’s monsoon season or the monsoon session, both are very productive if they are proactive. Discussions in Parliament should be logical and reasoned.
