  • NTA Forensic Investigation Detects Digital Tampering; NEET Protest Delhi

Kanpur’s Arya Singh, who appeared for the Re NEET exam on June 21, made serious allegations against NTA. She reached Delhi’s Jantar Mantar with her father along with her OMR sheet to protest against NTA.

Now NTA has stated about Arya that the candidate’s original OMR sheet is safely preserved with NTA, which was also sent to their registered email during the OMR response challenge window.

The photo going viral on the internet has been created by digitally tampering with the original OMR sheet. On the original sheet, the invigilator’s signature time is recorded as 3:45 PM. This has been changed to 2:45 PM in the edited photo. Apart from this, several other digital alterations have been detected on the fake sheet. NTA has stated that Arya’s score of 167 marks is completely correct and intact.

Regarding OMR-related claims for NEET (UG) 2026 being circulated on social media, it may be noted that the genuine OMR of every candidate concerned is on record with NTA. It was made available on the candidate portal and emailed to the candidates at the time of the OMR Response pic.twitter.com/rN3r21c4hfNational Testing Agency (@NTA_Exams) July 20, 2026

Warning of Legal Action

NTA has clarified that creating, distributing fake or edited OMR sheets, or making false claims against public examination records is a serious and punishable offense under the ‘Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024’. Action can be taken against those who do so.

Arya had demanded an investigation from NTA

After the Re NEET results were announced, Kanpur student Arya Singh had raised serious questions against the National Testing Agency (NTA). Arya alleges that while according to the matching of her OMR (OMR) sheet, she was getting 609 marks, when checking her result on the NTA website, two different scores were shown within just two hours.

The distressed student has sent an email with evidence to the Education Minister and NTA demanding an investigation. On the night of the 13th, when her OMR sheet appeared on NTA’s official website, the sequence of question numbers was wrong. However, when she matched her questions, she was getting 609 marks.

After this, Arya immediately complained about this sequence on NTA’s challenge portal. In response to the complaint, NTA sent an updated OMR sheet on its official website, in which the question number sequence was corrected, but the score remained 609. Arya’s question was how two different results of the same student could be issued within a few hours.

Complaint sent to NTA and Education Minister

After this discrepancy came to light in the result, Arya compiled the screenshots, OMR sheet and other documents in his possession. Arya sent this via email to NTA and the Union Education Minister. Arya has demanded that an impartial investigation be conducted into his case. If there has been any technical error, it should be corrected as soon as possible.

Rejected Abhay Yadav’s claims

Student Abhay Yadav had also mentioned a discrepancy between the OMR sheet and actual marks. In response to this, NTA said, the agency has checked the records. The original OMR sheet was also sent to the student’s registered email. The student had publicly claimed that he had left only 5 questions and his score should be 634 marks, but this does not turn out to be correct in government records. According to records, 44 out of 180 questions were left unsolved. The candidate’s score of 164 marks is verified and will remain the same.

Avneesh Srivastava’s Lie Caught

One of the most discussed cases of Re NEET is also the case of Avneesh Srivastava. His family had alleged that the OMR sheet uploaded by NTA belonged to another student named Ajit Singh. However, NTA has completely denied the exchange of answer sheets.

According to the agency, forensic investigation revealed that the viral photo was not the official OMR sheet, but a digitally modified version of Avneesh’s own answer sheet. The agency stated that only the identification fields were changed, while other information including the barcode remained the same as the original OMR sheet. The agency also pointed out several signs of digital manipulation. These included spelling mistakes.

Changes Found in Pratibha Trivedi’s OMR Sheet

NTA has also dismissed the allegations made by candidate Pratibha Trivedi regarding her OMR sheet. According to the agency, the genuine OMR sheet was already available with NTA and was also sent to the candidate via email during the official OMR response challenge window.

However, the photo going viral on social media is not of genuine documents. The agency said that the photo going viral is a digitally modified version of the original OMR sheet. This is not the sheet present in NTA’s records and significant alterations have been made to it.
