Thousands of students are protesting on the streets of Ranchi against irregularities in JPSC and JSSC examinations. Students have been on the streets since the announcement of results for the 14th Combined Civil Services Preliminary Examination of Jharkhand Public Service Commission.
This movement is taking place at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium located in Kachahri. The protesting students are also receiving support from various political parties. Police are on alert mode in view of the students’ demonstration.
Students have warned the government that if immediate improvements are not made to the examination system, their movement will take an even bigger form. Currently, the students’ indefinite movement is ongoing.

The students have decided that until the government fulfills their demands and guarantees improvement in the examination system, they will not leave this protest and their movement will not end.
Assembly will see protests on 6 August
Students sitting on an indefinite satyagraha movement have planned to protest in front of the Jharkhand Assembly on 6 August during the monsoon session of the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha.
During the Assembly protest, thousands of students from various districts of Jharkhand are expected to arrive. In such a situation, the police department has been put on alert to deal with any chaotic situation.
Impact of the Movement: Examination Postponed
The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has postponed the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Main (Written) Competitive Examination 2025.
L. Khiangte, who was the chairman of JPSC, has resigned and the CID is investigating the alleged irregularities in JPSC examinations.
The CID and Ranchi Police teams have conducted raids at the JPSC office as well as at Khiangte’s residence.
So far, the CID has arrested approximately a dozen people.
