The Medical Counselling Committee has made several changes to NEET-UG 2026 counselling.
Candidates opting for seat upgrades will no longer need to report to college in every round. Their admission will remain secured within the counselling system. After the third round, candidates will need to visit the college to show original documents, submit fees, and complete formalities.
An online facility has also been provided for candidates to give up an allotted seat. NRI quota candidates will be able to upload documents on the portal.
Meanwhile, Union Health Minister JP Nadda reviewed the preparations for NEET-UG 2026 counselling.
Claim — Marks changed 3 times: A NEET-UG 2026 candidate has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court. He claims that his marks on the NTA portal first showed 650, then 500, and the next day 135. The student has demanded that the relevant digital records be preserved and an independent inquiry be conducted.
Chargesheet: Paper leaked in a way that left no trace
According to the CBI’s first chargesheet, the NEET-UG 2026 paper was leaked within an extremely limited circle so that no digital trail would remain. However, the paper reached Rajasthan via Pune, Nashik, and Telegram.
