
Fifty students were hospitalised after complaining of abdominal pain following dinner at the Murarji Desai Hostel in Dandoti, Kalaburagi district, on Thursday night.
Of the 50 students, 31 were admitted to Chittapur Hospital, 10 to Gundgurti Hospital, five to Malkhed Hospital and one to Dandoti Hospital.
Kalaburagi Deputy Commissioner Ikramulla Shariff and District Health Officer Sharanbasappa visited Chittapur Hospital to assess the situation. Water samples sent for testing.
Indore: Food Safety Dept inspects 3 schools, collects 22 samples
The Food Safety Department inspected three schools in Indore after reports of students falling ill from a meal.
Acting on the Collector’s directions, officials collected 22 food samples for laboratory testing.
The hostel mess at Agrawal Public School was shut for operating without a mandatory food licence. Officials also found no NABL-certified water test report, missing medical fitness certificates for food handlers, and worn-out kitchen equipment.
Five samples each were collected from Vibgyor School and Sica Higher Secondary School. Indore Collector Shivam Verma urged citizens to report food safety violations through helplines and the FoSCoS portal. To read full news click here
