An ATM robbery carried out in a cinematic style has come to light in Tudigadia market in Odisha’s Balasore district.
Three to four miscreants arrived at an India1 ATM kiosk in a black Mahindra Thar SUV at around 2 am on Friday. They broke open the kiosk door, tied the ATM to the vehicle with a rope and uprooted it.
The accused then dragged the ATM along the road, but the rope snapped. They tried to lift the machine into the SUV, but failed because it was too heavy. They tied it to the vehicle again and continued dragging it to a secluded spot.
There, the miscreants attempted to break open the ATM and remove the cash inside, but were unsuccessful. According to the police, not a single rupee was stolen. The accused eventually abandoned the damaged ATM by the roadside and fled. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.
