In a heartwarming display of compassion, personnel from New Barrackpore Police Station rescued an 80-year-old man who was found injured and lying on a roadside before ensuring he received medical treatment and was safely reunited with his family on Thursday night.

Police rescue injured elderly man compassionately
The incident took place near Talukdar More in Ward No. 9 of New Barrackpore Municipality. Police received information that an elderly man had collapsed on the road. A patrolling team immediately rushed to the spot and found him bleeding from his face, jaw, nose and hands.
Despite his condition, the man was able to identify himself as Kalipada Mondal and provide his address in the Doharia area, along with the names of his sons.

The police took him to Dr. B.C. Roy General Hospital and Maternity Home in New Barrackpore, where he was given emergency medical treatment. After doctors discharged him, the police drove him home through heavy rain and safely handed him over to his family at Shailesh Nagar, Doharia, under Ward No. 25 of Madhyamgram Municipality.

The elderly man’s daughters expressed their gratitude to the police, praising their prompt response and humane approach in ensuring his safety and well-being.
