AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi says, “What happened yesterday is the consistent behaviour of this government. Similar things happened during the lawyers’ protest, the farmers’ protest, and also during the CAA protest. This (protest) has been going on for so many weeks. You should have engaged in talks with students before. You can see the visuals that have come out. This is complete disorder.”

Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda has slammed the Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, and said that he should resign.

In his statement, he mentioned, “Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda says, ”We demand that Dharmendra Pradhan should resign and there should be a comprehensive discussion on the education system and examination system. Delhi Police has tried to suppress the voice of the youth. The country will not tolerate this. No one should be allowed to baton-charge someone in civilian clothes. When there are sparks of this kind on the streets, voices must be raised in Parliament as well.”

BJP MP Jagdambika Pal says, “The Opposition has no interest in making the House function. Yesterday too, the House did not function. The Opposition MPs went to that protest yesterday. On the other hand, they are continuously disrupting this House. This is wasting the hard-earned public money.”

LoP, Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi says, “Modi ji has not even apologised for what happened yesterday. The youth are protesting against the education and testing system. The whole country knows that the education and testing system is hollowed out by termites. Why is the Prime Minister silent? He should apologise to the students and stop this nonsense of thrashing students.”

On India-US trade deal, SAD MP Harsimrat Kaur says, “We have been seeing reports from the US side on the deal, while there has been no communication from the govt. Since then, the farmers are outraged as there are reports that this deal, with respect to dairy, fruits, cereals, will harm them. There is both outrage and fear among farmers. The govt should not repeat what happened during the farm laws. If you don’t assure people, they will have to come onto the roads. They will have to convince farmers.”

On the CJP protest, Congress MP Manish Tewari says, “The atrocity committed against the innocent students yesterday should be condemned and discussed in Parliament. We will continue to raise this issue.”

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, slammed the government over their actions in the CJP protest.

He said, “The point is this is no way to treat the young people of this country. The young people of this country do not have opportunities; all the doors are closed; one door is open for competitive exams, which is also destroyed. These students here are complaining not just about the education system but their future. They are complaining because of Mr Ambani and Mr Adani, the RSS’s complete takeover of the education system. This is about the future of young people. They watch Ambani’s wedding and Rs 1000 crores being spent there, while they have no money to open a business of their own. This is much bigger than education. This is students of India saying they have no future in India. This is legitimate. Dharmendra Pradhan, the Home Minister and the Prime Minister, should resign.”

Congress MP KC Venugopal says, “The brutal and cruel attitude of the Union govt was witnessed in the national capital yesterday. Was this the way to deal with a peaceful protest by students? This govt is scared, insensitive. We will raise this issue in Parliament again. We have already moved a resolution asking for discussion and the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. The entire country is witnessing that Modi is anti-students and anti-youth. He is responsible for yesterday’s incident. How many students were there in the protest yesterday? This is an autocratic government, not a democratic government?”

Congress MP Manickam Tagore says, “LoP Rahul Gandhi and all the Opposition leaders met the Speaker and demanded that yesterday’s lathi-charge should be discussed in the Parliament. We raised the issue in the Question Hour, but we were not allowed to do so. We want the Home Minister to come to the House and answer.”

The Rajya Sabha has been adjourned for the second time following disruptions in Parliament. The House was earlier adjourned at 11 am.

On Police action during CJP protest march yesterday, Congress president and Rajya Sabha LoP Mallikarjun Kharge says, “…We sought time to raise in Parliament the issue of injustice, oppression and pressure being unleashed. But as soon as I uttered a word, the mic was switched off. Is this democracy? If you do not want debate in democracy, if you do not want to hear us, where will we go?…We also wanted to know what was discussed with JP Nadda. We also wanted to know what happened in their internal meeting? It is important to tell people about this. So, we wanted a discussion over this and a subsequent statement by the Home Minister. Floor Leaders should have been allowed to speak on this…”

In a statement, CPI(M) MP John Brittas said, “Now the government has realised that they cannot suppress this protest or agitation. What the capital witnessed yesterday was resonating with the discontent, and it was the discontent brewing at ground level… They came to power ‘Dharam ko bachane ke liye’ now they are working ‘Dharmendra ko bachane ke liye’. This is their new slogan.”

On CJP’s protest, Union Minister & LJP President Chirag Paswan says, “I respect the sentiments of the students. Obviously, there must have been outrage and worry regarding different issues that the students had to come onto the roads. At the same time, I am not in favour of suppressing the voice of the students. Dialogue is a good medium. The way their delegation met JP Nadda ji yesterday, the govt has always kept its door open to dialogue. Sometimes the outrage is so much that people come onto the roads. If limits are crossed and law and order is obstructed, then some stringent actions are taken. I do not support that. I believe students and youth are the future of our country, and we should respect their sentiments, to which my government is committed.”

Union Minister JP Nadda says, “…I rise to move that, in pursuance of Section 4(g), read with Section 6(3) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Act, 1956, as amended by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act, 2012, this House proceed to elect, in such a manner as directed by the Chairman, one member from among the members of the House to serve as a member of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar, to fill the vacancy caused by the retirement of Smt. Mamata Mohanta from the membership of the Rajya Sabha on April 2, 2026, subject to the provisions of the Act”

Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad says, “Lakhs of young people-who are the country’s greatest asset had gathered at Jantar Mantar to present their concerns before the government. Instead of listening to them, the government responded with a lathi-charge. Tear gas was fired, heads were injured, blood was shed, and many sustained injuries to their hands and legs.”

On the CJP protest outside Parliament yesterday, BJP MP Kangana Ranaut said, “All parliamentarians were inside the Parliament. We all were scared, thinking that the mob might attack us. I appreciate Delhi Police for playing the role of a shield, not letting people get harmed.”

In a statement given to ANI Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju says, “The NDA would play a constructive role during the ongoing Monsoon Session. We are united in our resolve to pass the bills and legislative business brought forward for the nation’s benefit. We also urge the opposition that while different parties may hold differing views—to work together for the country, its future, and its youth.”

On National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Parliamentary Party Meeting, ‘Mangal Milan’, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju says, “… The Prime Minister provided guidance to all… It was a very productive meeting. The Prime Minister addressed several significant issues and offered his guidance. He highlighted the successes the country has achieved in recent months and spoke about the FTAs signed with various nations. Regarding these agreements, the Prime Minister assured that the interests of farmers would be prioritised; he emphasised that no harm would come to them. He stated that the welfare of farmers remains paramount in any FTA signed with any country, ensuring that these agreements serve the best interests of both the farmers and the nation.”

On Police action during the CJP protest yesterday, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra says, “I think it’s absolutely disgusting. This is no way. These are young people. They have a genuine problem. We all know what that problem is…They want a bright future for themselves. They see that there is a possibility for a future and you are destroying that furture. So, this is a very deep problem and has been there for many years…The least the PM can do is hear them out, listen to them, call them and understand what the issue is. They are asking rightly for the resignation of the minister (Union Education Minister). He is the person who is responsible…”

She also mentioned that, “They are anti-youth, anti-poor, anti-farmer. We have been seeing this for 12 years. Make the minister resign. There was a time when ministers used to take accountability. Mend your system.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called the NEET paper leak a grave sin at the NDA parliamentary meet, vows strict punishment for accused.

Yesterday while speaking in the Rajya Sabha, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge raised the issue of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar. He alleged that the government had suppressed the voices of protesting students and accused the police of using lathi-charge against them.

Yesterday Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media for around 15 minutes at Parliament’s Makar Dwar before the start of the session. He said that, just as the monsoon is beneficial when it arrives on time, a productive Monsoon Session depends on constructive participation. He urged all parties to engage in logical and meaningful debate in Parliament.
