Heavy rain triggered flash floods in the Beerwah and Khag areas of Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir, where one person was swept away.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), police and other security agencies have launched search and rescue operations. The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Kashmir from Monday.
In Assam, the flood situation has worsened due to continuous rainfall. At least 21 people died in flood-related incidents over the past 24 hours, while more than 5.64 lakh people have been affected across 16 districts. Rescue and relief operations are underway in several areas.
