A tourist family visiting Maharashtra’s Nashik was allegedly attacked by a group of miscreants after they objected to the molestation of a woman, police said.
According to officials, the incident took place around 6 pm on Monday. The family was reportedly surrounded by eight to 10 youths after they confronted the accused over the alleged harassment. They managed to flee the spot in their car.
The accused then allegedly chased the family’s vehicle on motorcycles and attacked it with sticks, iron rods and baseball bats while it was moving, causing extensive damage to the car.
Despite the attack, the family escaped without serious harm.
Police have arrested eight accused in connection with the incident, while a search is underway to trace another suspect. An investigation into the case is ongoing.
