Environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk is on a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The movement, which is ongoing with the Cockroach Janta Party, is now receiving support from Bollywood celebrities. On Tuesday, actress Swara Bhasker herself reached the protest site and met Sonam Wangchuk.
Meanwhile, actresses like Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan, Shabana Azmi, and Rubina Dilaik have made an emotional appeal to Sonam Wangchuk on social media to end his hunger strike. They say that the country desperately needs honest people like Sonam.
Sonam Wangchuk has lost approximately 8.2 kg during the hunger strike.
Swara Bhasker reaches the protest site On Tuesday, actress Swara Bhasker joined the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. She met Sonam Wangchuk and Abhijeet upon reaching there. Pictures of this meeting were shared from the official Instagram account of Cockroach Janta Party. Its caption stated that outspoken and fearless actress Swara Bhasker joined the protest at Jantar Mantar.
Swara also shared this post on her Instagram status. Expressing gratitude to Abhijeet, she wrote, “Thank you for fighting for the future of our children.” For Sonam Wangchuk, she wrote that he is tirelessly fighting for the future of children, and her full solidarity is with him.

Please do not leave us like this.”
