In UP, on Friday, heavy rain occurred in 10 cities, including Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Gorakhpur. Rivers in UP have started overflowing. The Saryu River is in spate in Ballia and Barabanki. Erosion has started along the river banks. In Barabanki, the Saryu has reached close to the danger mark. Fields in many villages have been submerged. 87 villages are facing the threat of floods.
Due to the active low-pressure area (well-marked low pressure) in the Bay of Bengal and the active cyclonic circulation in Rajasthan, the spell of rain has started in Gujarat. On Friday, 57 talukas received heavy rainfall.
The flood and landslide situation in Arunachal Pradesh remains serious due to continuous rainfall. In the last 24 hours, 35 villages in the Giba, Niling, Chetam, and Daporijo circles of Upper Subansiri district have been affected by flash floods and landslides. So far, 1,13,674 people have been affected by the flood.
