A young woman who set her boyfriend on fire by pouring petrol on him in Amritsar had also come to his house 3 days earlier with the intention of killing him.
At that time, she had told the young man’s family that the petrol was to be donated to the Gurudwara. The family has also shared CCTV footage of this incident.
In the footage, the young woman can be seen at a photostat shop located near the boy’s house. In the video, the young man appears to be pleading with the woman with folded hands.
Meanwhile, the woman is seen sitting on a chair with her feet on the counter. She was repeatedly threatening him by showing her fingers. After about 10 minutes, the woman left from there.
After this, on July 15, the woman called the young man to her house. There, they argued over something. After this, the woman tied up the young man with the help of her cousin brother and set him on fire by sprinkling petrol on him.
After this, she informed the police about a suicide. The police have registered a case against 4 people, including the woman and her cousin brother, and arrested them.
The accused young woman, Rajvinder Kaur, and her cousin brother, Harpal Singh, are admitted in the hospital. Their treatment is ongoing.

- Young woman came with petrol, abused and left: Mandeep Singh, younger brother of deceased Sandeep Singh, a resident of village Bal Khurd, said – Sandeep had gotten married just 2 months ago. On the morning of July 12, around 8 AM, a young woman came to our house with petrol. She had said that my brother had some work for her, which needed to be done. The woman came with petrol, threatened to kill Sandeep, and also abused him before leaving.
- The same young woman called and summoned him: Mandeep said – On July 15, around 12:30 PM, Sandeep received a call from the same young woman, after which he left home.When he didn’t return for a long time, I called him around 3 PM. A police officer answered the phone and asked us to come to the station. After that, I reached the station with a respected person from the village. The police kept us sitting there until around 4:30 PM.
- Police called it suicide, there were injury marks on the head: According to Mandeep, during this time he came to know that Sandeep had died due to burning and the case was being termed as suicide. However, when family members reached the spot, petrol was not scattered outside.Mandeep claims that Sandeep’s motorcycle was parked inside and he was tied inside and burnt. He alleged that there were also injury marks on his brother’s head and he was brutally beaten.
Sandeep Singh’s last rites were performed on Thursday. Grieving family members during this time.

On July 12, she came with petrol in a water cooler. She had told the family that she goes to serve at Gurdwara Shaheedan Sahib and had to donate petrol there, but the water cooler’s tap broke, due to which the smell of petrol was coming from it. At that time, the family did not suspect the young woman.
- Called brother through blackmail, murdered him: Mandeep says that now, when his brother’s body has been recovered from the same young woman’s house, his suspicion has deepened further. He says that the young woman called his brother to her house through blackmail, then murdered him.Mandeep said that his brother could not commit suicide. Sandeep had been married for only 2 months. It is possible that he went to talk to that young woman thinking that she should not trouble him.
Some ropes and clothes were found at the spot. Family members suspect that Sandeep must have been tied here and set on fire.

Village Bal Khurd Sarpanch Jasvinder Singh, who reached the spot with Mandeep, also said that when he reached the scene, he saw that where Sandeep’s body was lying, plastic ropes were tied on one side. He is fully convinced that Sandeep was first tied up and then set on fire.
The Sarpanch said that after the fire started, when the ropes would have melted, Sandeep must have tried to save himself. During this, he was attacked with sharp weapons, whose marks were also present on Sandeep’s head.
During this time, the young woman and her brother must have also got burnt, because Sandeep must have tried to save himself.

Meanwhile, Majitha police station SHO Karmpal Singh said that Sandeep Singh, a resident of village Bal Khurd, was called by the girl who carried out the incident along with her family. Sandeep and Majitha resident girl Rajvinder Kaur knew each other from before and had a love relationship between them. Both had worked together.
According to police, Sandeep got married about 2 months ago. When Rajvinder Kaur came to know about this, she called Sandeep home. On Wednesday, Sandeep reached her house in Majitha on a bike. During this time, after talking for some time, an argument broke out between the two, which led to a commotion there.
The SHO said, ”The girl, along with family members, poured petrol on Sandeep. Then the angry girl, Rajvinder Kaur, and her cousin, Harpal Singh, set Sandeep on fire. A case has been registered against 4 people, and they have been arrested.”
