The Cockroach Janata Party protested for 36 days at Jantar Mantar over the paper leak case. During this, there were several clashes with the police.

The Delhi government said on Thursday that no legal action would be taken against protesters associated with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).

The government said Delhi Police had registered 13 FIRs in connection with violence and clashes during the student protests yesterday. These FIRs were registered by 6 pm on July 29 over protests linked to irregularities in the NEET (UG) exam.

According to the government order, those who have been arrested or detained will be released shortly. However, it clarified that legal proceedings will continue against individuals with a criminal record.

So far, 4 states have withdrawn the case

So far, four state governments have announced the withdrawal of cases and FIRs filed against students involved in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak protests. These include Assam, Bihar, Maharashtra, and Delhi.

According to the police investigation, the identities of 2,873 individuals were verified, of whom 989 were found to have criminal cases registered against them, including charges related to murder, robbery, dacoity, and rape.

Police said the verification process identified 101 people with cases related to murder, 62 linked to attempted murder, 284 to robbery, 229 under the Arms Act, 135 for snatching, 19 for kidnapping, and 67 under the NDPS Act.

In addition, 61 individuals were found to have cases related to rape, 25 to offences involving the molestation of women, and six under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Delhi Police said it was closely monitoring the situation and had strengthened security arrangements as a precaution to prevent any untoward incidents.
