
The deep depression formed over the Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Odisha-West Bengal coasts may intensify into a cyclonic storm in the next 24 hours. This could lead to winds blowing at a speed of 65kmph along the Andhra coast. According to the Meteorological Department, high waves will also rise in the sea.
Meanwhile, the flood situation in Assam has improved slightly. However, for this, several agencies like the Army, NDRF, SDRF, and Police had to engage in rescue operations.
According to the government bulletin, more than 5.24 lakh people are still affected by floods in Assam’s Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon, and Sivasagar districts. The death toll due to floods has risen to 68.
At the same time, the Army has also taken charge in flood-affected areas in South Gujarat, Ahmedabad, Dadra-Nagar Haveli. The Army has rescued more than 790 people so far.
