Data and analytics company Kantar, in partnership with Dainik Bhaskar, has launched its first report, ‘Urban Bharat – India’s Consumption Story’, offering an in-depth analysis of consumption patterns, consumer aspirations and the growing demand for premium products across India’s emerging urban markets.
The report was launched by RPG Enterprises Chairman Harsh Goenka and focuses on 50 Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, excluding Mumbai and Delhi, highlighting the changing dynamics of India’s consumer economy.

Report fills critical data gap: Harsh Goenka
Speaking at the launch, Harsh Goenka said there had long been a lack of reliable and comprehensive data on consumer markets in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. He said the report, prepared by trusted organisations like Kantar and Dainik Bhaskar, would help businesses and marketers better understand India’s evolving consumption landscape and identify new growth opportunities.

Companies can identify emerging markets: Girish Agarwal
Dainik Bhaskar Group Promoter Director Girish Agarwal said India’s consumption-driven growth story is rapidly expanding beyond the country’s biggest metropolitan cities.
He said the report was developed in collaboration with Kantar to help companies identify emerging markets and formulate effective business strategies.
Agarwal added that one of the report’s key features is the Urban Bharat City Opportunity Index, which ranks 50 cities based on their growth potential. The index is designed to help businesses make informed investment and market expansion decisions.
