The 72nd National Film Awards were announced on Saturday. Srikanth won the Best Hindi Film award, while Yami Gautam was named Best Actress in a leading role for Article 370. Mammootty for the film Bramayugam and Kartik Aaryan for the film Chandu Champion jointly won the Best Actor award in a leading role.
Among the announced winners, the Tamil film ‘Raayan’ received the Best Tamil Film award, ‘Committee Kurrollu’ received the Best Telugu Film award, ‘Lahari’ received the Best Odia Film award, ‘Mukkam Post Bombilwadi’ received the Best Marathi Film award, and ‘Sunita’ received the Best Manipuri Film award.
‘Captain Miller’ and ‘Meyyazhagan’ were honoured with Special Mentions.
Winners of Non-Feature Films
In the non-feature film category, ‘Bhangar (Obsolete)’ was chosen as the Best Non-Feature Film. The Hindi film ‘Main Nida’ received the Best Art and Culture Film award, while ‘Humsafar’ was honored with the Best Short Film award.
