- NEET UG Counselling Round 1 Choice Filling Delayed | New PwBD Guidelines

The date for NEET UG counselling has changed. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) was supposed to start choice filling for Round 1 on 6 August. But now, candidates can start choosing their preferred medical colleges and courses from 12 noon on 8 August.
Why the date changed
The MCC said in a notice on Thursday that this change is because of new guidelines from the National Medical Commission (NMC) for PwBD (disabled) candidates’ MBBS admissions. NMC issued a fresh addendum on 5 August, updating its earlier guidelines from 27 July. These changes were made to match the directions given by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD).
What candidates need to do
Because of these changes, the choice-filling date was pushed ahead. Now, from 12 noon on 8 August, candidates can do both choice filling and choice locking together — this is when they pick their preferred medical college and course.
The MCC has asked all candidates to keep checking its official website regularly, so they don’t miss any new updates or changes to the schedule.
