Amarnath Yatra Bus Accident | Ganderbal Gorge; Deputy CM Seeks Report

A bus from Mandsaur travelling from Baltal to Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir fell into a nearly 50-foot-deep gorge. Around 40 pilgrims were on board, returning after the Amarnath Yatra. The passengers included devotees from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. All passengers were injured in the accident, while two suffered serious injuries.

The accident took place near Ranga Mor in Ganderbal district. Local residents and rescue teams pulled all passengers out of the bus. The injured were first taken to the Sub-District Hospital in Kangan. After initial treatment, they were referred to Soura in Srinagar.

According to information, most passengers suffered multiple injuries and head trauma. The condition of all injured passengers is currently reported to be stable, and treatment is underway.

Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda took stock of the accident and discussed the condition of the injured with officials. He also informed Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav about the incident.

Mandsaur company had rented the bus

The bus belonged to a travel company from Ajmer. It was rented by an agent of Maa Bhagwati Yatra Company from Mandsaur for the Amarnath Yatra. A total of four buses from the company had gone to Jammu and Kashmir, one of which met with an accident.

Treatment of the injured underway in Srinagar hospitals

All the injured have been admitted to different hospitals in Srinagar. The administration is gathering information about the identity of the injured and their condition. Currently, the focus is on the treatment of the passengers. Local administration and police are investigating to ascertain the causes of the accident.

Mandsaur administration also keeping an eye

Mandsaur district administration is also in contact with the Jammu and Kashmir administration. The process of conveying information about the passengers’ condition to their families by officials is ongoing. The administration states that all possible help is being provided to the injured and the matter is being continuously monitored.
