The 36-day protest led by the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar culminated in celebrations after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his post. Among those expressing relief was Abhijit Dipke’s mother, Anita Dipke, who said her son’s long struggle had finally borne fruit.

Speaking to the media, Anita Dipke said, “My son’s hard work has paid off.” She said the family had been under immense stress for the past two and a half months as Abhijit remained fully focused on the movement.

According to her, Abhijit often could not sleep at night, and the entire family shared his anxiety over the ongoing protest. She added that the family is now proud of the stand he took and the perseverance he showed throughout the campaign.

36-day protest ends with celebrations

The ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ had been staging a continuous protest at Jantar Mantar for the past 36 days over its demands. The demonstration drew nationwide attention, with protesters maintaining their agitation throughout the period.

Following the announcement of Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, protesters at Jantar Mantar celebrated the development, congratulating one another and describing it as a major victory for the movement.

Dipke: ‘The world bows, one needs someone to make it bow’

Reacting to the resignation, Abhijit Dipke addressed supporters gathered at the protest site.

“It used to be said that resignations don’t happen in this government. But ‘Jhukti hai duniya, jhukane wala chahiye’ (The world bows, one needs someone to make it bow),” he said.

Dipke credited the success to every worker who participated in the 36-day agitation. He said the movement had demonstrated that sustained struggle, patience, continuity and a firm stand can ultimately lead to success.

From struggle and anxiety to satisfaction

With the resignation of the Education Minister, an atmosphere of celebration prevailed among party workers and Dipke’s family members.

Anita Dipke said the family’s months of struggle, worry and emotional stress had finally turned into a sense of satisfaction. She said the day marked the reward for her son’s unwavering commitment and tireless efforts during the movement.
