Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee has received conditional permission from the Supreme Court to travel abroad for three weeks for eye treatment. The court directed Banerjee to inform the police at least 48 hours before his departure about his destination, flight details and the treatment he intends to undergo. The Supreme Court also observed that his diplomatic passport can be traced if the police consider it necessary. The permission comes after the Calcutta High Court had earlier denied him permission to travel abroad for medical treatment.
