Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 136th episode of his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday. He began by mentioning Kargil Vijay Diwas and paying tribute to the brave soldiers. He said Kargil Vijay Diwas is a date that does not require anyone to remember the day because it is etched in the nation’s memory.

The PM praised the country’s youth and said, “Our youth are making India proud. Science Olympiads are among the most prestigious competitions in the world, with a large number of students participating. This month, Olympiads in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics were held, and the Indian team performed brilliantly.”

The Prime Minister said, “Last Sunday, the successful launch of Vikram-1 was a moment of pride for every Indian. We all witnessed this historic moment in India’s space sector. It is India’s first rocket developed by the private sector. Our young innovators have achieved what once seemed almost impossible. They demonstrated exceptional skill, passion, and perseverance.”

10 key points from PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’

Kargil Vijay Diwas: The PM said it is a date that is remembered even without having to remember the day. He said the soldiers at Kargil never gave up despite every challenge. A Shaurya Vijay Yatra is being taken out from Delhi to Dras.

INS Mahendragiri and Pinaka: The PM said India is rapidly advancing in defence technology. The indigenous warship INS Mahendragiri was commissioned into the Navy, while the Pinaka missile was also successfully launched.

Catch the Rain and water conservation: The PM said water should be conserved wherever it falls. He said 4,000 ponds have been built in Madhya Pradesh and several states have participated in the campaign. Every drop of water saved today is capital for the future.

Commonwealth Games and athletes’ achievements: Modi urged people to cheer for Indian athletes at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. He also mentioned PV Sindhu’s Japan Open victory and the Indian women’s cricket team’s Test win.

Vikram-1 and young innovators: The PM said the successful launch of Vikram-1 was a historic achievement for India’s space sector. It is the first privately developed rocket, and young innovators have achieved what once seemed impossible.

Science Olympiads: The PM said Indian students performed brilliantly in the Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics Olympiads, making the country proud.

‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign: The PM mentioned that 3.5 lakh saplings were planted in one hour in Ahmedabad and more than 35 crore saplings were planted in Uttar Pradesh in a single day. He urged people to participate in protecting nature.

Plastic-free India: The PM cited an initiative in Sitamarhi, Bihar, where benches are being made from plastic waste. He reiterated his appeal to use clay idols instead of plaster of Paris and plastic during Ganeshotsav.

Local products, handloom and khadi: The PM mentioned Kashmir’s Waggu mats, herbal tea from Bijnor, National Handloom Day and the rising sales of khadi. He urged people to buy local products.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and Har Ghar Tiranga: PM Modi remembered Kalam and mentioned Guru Purnima and Independence Day. He urged people to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
