Rahul Gandhi on Friday called Dharmendra Pradhan a “criminal” education minister and said he must be removed. He said Pradhan symbolises the collapse of India’s education system and should step down. “He is the reason why thousands of people are on the streets. He has to go,” Rahul added. Rahul met students who were injured in the alleged pellet gun firing. He appeared before the media with one of the injured students and showed the wound on the student’s arm. Rahul said: I want to tell you that the young man standing beside me was injured by a pellet gun while peacefully protesting with the Tricolour. The government claims that pellet guns were not used. His eye has been damaged, and he has lost his vision. Thousands of young people were lathi-charged and targeted with pellet guns.
