A clash broke out between members of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and a group of Nihangs at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, leading to a brief argument and scuffle. Delhi Police and security personnel quickly intervened to bring the situation under control.
The exact cause of the confrontation is yet to be established. Following the incident, security arrangements at the protest site were tightened.
Sikh groups join protest, Nihangs arrive in convoy
Late on Wednesday (23 July) night, members of several Sikh organisations joined the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar. Protesters welcomed their arrival with slogans, after which both groups chanted “Satnam Waheguru”.
Videos from the site showed Nihangs arriving while sitting on the roofs and bonnets of vehicles. Young protesters also sang Punjabi songs, while volunteers distributed bedsheets and blankets to those participating in the demonstration.
One Nihang warned that any attempt to harm the dignity of women would be strongly resisted.
Protesters renew demand for Education Minister’s resignation
Singer Bhajan Kanhaiya Mittal also addressed the gathering with a song aimed at Gen-Z, urging young people to join the protest over the alleged NEET paper leak.
The protest follows the July 20 Parliament March, during which clashes erupted after demonstrators reached near the Parliament gate.
Police resorted to a lathi-charge to disperse the crowd, leaving several protesters injured, including a youth from Talwara in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur district who reportedly received 18 stitches to his head.
The protesters continue to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged examination paper leak controversy.

Sikh groups organise langar, distribute essentials to protesters
Members of Sikh organisations and volunteers from across Punjab set up a langar for protesters at Jantar Mantar, where the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has been staging a protest since June 20.
Along with serving food, the volunteers distributed bedsheets, blankets and mats to those participating in the demonstration, many of whom have been eating and sleeping at the protest site.
Protesters hail support from Punjab, prayers continue into the night
Videos shared by protesters on social media said the Sikh community had extended support to the youth movement just as it had backed the farmers’ protest. Participants thanked those who travelled from Punjab, saying they had come to stand in solidarity with the protesters.
Late into the night, Nihangs and members of Sikh organisations sat together chanting “Satnam Waheguru”, with many protesters joining the prayers. Slogans of “Bole So Nihal” also echoed through the protest venue as the gathering continued.

Videos circulating on social media showed Nihangs arriving at Jantar Mantar while riding on the bonnets and roofs of vehicles.
Their arrival was welcomed by protesters with chants of “Jo Bole So Nihal”, as supporters hailed the participation of people from Punjab in the ongoing demonstration.
Bhajan singer targets opposition through protest song
Bhajan singer Kanhaiya Mittal released a song at the Cockroach Janta Party’s protest site, using satire to comment on the ongoing agitation.
Through the lyrics, he questioned the role of the protest organisers, alleging that young people were being encouraged to face police action while political leaders remained on the sidelines.
Mittal also took aim at the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress, referring to alleged examination paper leaks in Rajasthan and police action against employees in Punjab.
He questioned the responsibility of the governments in those states, saying accountability should be applied uniformly across all parties.

Nihangs join protest, students welcome their support
A contingent of Blue Force Nihangs reached Jantar Mantar around 7 pm on Tuesday (21 July), drawing an enthusiastic response from the protesters. Many demonstrators welcomed their arrival, saying it boosted morale at the protest site.
One female student thanked the Nihangs for extending support, saying their presence had given the protesters “new life”.
Responding to the gathering, a Nihang assured the students that they would stand by them whenever needed and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their movement.
Khalistani terrorist Pannu releases video claiming support
Meanwhile, Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun released a video claiming that he had held a Zoom meeting with leaders of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), during which the ongoing protest was allegedly discussed.
In the video, Pannun makes inflammatory statements, including calls for the overthrow of the Narendra Modi government and the disintegration of India.
The video has been widely circulated on social media. However, the claims made by Pannun have not been independently verified.
