The investigation into the Ketan Agrawal murder case in Pune has revealed more shocking details. Police claim that the main accused, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, had allegedly contacted a contract killer to murder Ketan.
However, after learning about Ketan, the alleged contract killer reportedly became frightened and refused to take the assignment. Police said Siya and Chetan had called him to a hotel in Pune, and CCTV footage from the hotel has been recovered.
Investigators believe the man’s statement as a witness could play a key role in strengthening the case against the accused.
Watched Japanese videos to prepare for police questioning
Police said the investigation also found that Siya and Chetan watched around two hours of Japanese videos before their arrest.
According to investigators, the videos explained how to stay calm during police questioning, control body language and answer questions during interrogation. Police said links to the videos were found in the web browsing history of both accused.

Police have recovered two photographs that appear to show Siya and Chetan’s wedding. Investigators are verifying whether the images are genuine.
According to the investigation, the two allegedly married secretly at Khatu Shyam Temple in Rajasthan in 2025. A team from Pune Rural Police visited the temple and requested CCTV footage as part of the investigation.

Judicial custody extended again
A court has extended the judicial custody of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary by another 14 days, until 29 July.
Their previous 14-day judicial custody ended on Friday. Both remain lodged in Yerwada Central Jail.
Siya allegedly told a friend: “The wedding won’t happen”
A Snapchat conversation allegedly involving Siya and one of her friends has gone viral.
In a chat dated 25 May, Siya reportedly asked the friend to send an Aadhaar card for a wedding booking. She allegedly added, “Send the front and back of the Aadhaar card for the wedding ticket. The wedding is not going to happen, but send it anyway.”
The message has become an important part of the police investigation.
The picture is from November 2025. That’s when Siya and Ketan Agarwal got engaged. Siya also posed for a picture showing the ring Ketan put on her finger.

31 May: Police say Siya planned the murder
After their engagement on 11 February, Ketan often took Siya out and enjoyed trekking. Police claim Siya first planned the murder when Ketan suggested visiting Lohagad Fort.
5 June: Siya allegedly insisted on another fort visit
Police said Siya repeatedly asked Ketan to visit Lohagad Fort again, but he refused.
On 6 June, tickets were booked for Bali, Indonesia, for Ketan, his sister, a friend and Siya. Police allege that Siya hid Ketan’s passport so the trip could not take place.
14 June: First alleged attempt failed
According to police, Siya took Ketan to Lohagad Fort on 14 June and allegedly pushed him towards the edge.
Ketan reportedly survived after grabbing a tree. When he asked why she had pushed him, Siya allegedly replied that she had seen a snake and was trying to save him.
Ketan later told his family that Siya had saved his life.
18 June: Police allege second attempt ended in murder
Ketan had booked a luxury resort in Mahabaleshwar to celebrate Siya’s birthday on 19 June.
Before the trip, Siya allegedly persuaded him to visit Lohagad Fort for a pre-wedding photoshoot. Police claim Chetan Chaudhary followed them there.
Investigators allege that while Ketan was looking at the hills, Siya and Chetan pushed him from behind into the gorge, killing him.
Romantic posts shared before the murder
Before Ketan’s death, Siya had shared several romantic posts with him on social media.
The posts included photographs of marriage proposals, flowers, dancing together and affectionate moments. She also shared updates about preparations for their wedding, which was planned for November.
After their engagement in February, Siya posted a picture of a cake on Instagram with the caption: “It’s been a month since my heart found its home.”
