
Two patients were reported missing from RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, with one of them, Dipanwita Roy, later traced to her home, police said.
Bimal Ghosh admitted with cardiac complications
The other patient, 51-year-old Bimal Ghosh, a resident of Baranagar, was admitted to the hospital’s Medicine ward after being referred from Baranagar State General Hospital for fever and cardiac-related complications.

Family finds patient absent from bed
According to his family, Ghosh was admitted to the sixth-floor Medicine ward, bed number 22, on Thursday afternoon. When they visited around 11 am the following day, he was reportedly not found on his bed.

Tala Police begin tracing missing patient
Family members said hospital staff gave conflicting information about his whereabouts. A nurse allegedly said he had been taken for tests, while a ward boy said he had gone to the toilet. A fellow patient reportedly said Ghosh was last seen around 8 am.
The hospital later informed the family that Ghosh could not be traced. Tala Police are looking into the incident and verifying the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

Dipanwita Roy later found at home
In the other case, Dipanwita Roy was also reported missing from the hospital but was subsequently found at her home, police said. The circumstances under which she left the hospital are being verified.
The two incidents have prompted questions over communication between hospital authorities, patients and their families.
