Two people, including a two-and-a-half-year-old child, died in a fire in Mumbai’s Vile Parle area. The fire broke out on the 11th floor of a residential building on Tuesday night. The fire brigade rescued four people, including two women, one man, and one child, and sent them to the hospital.
The incident occurred around 10 PM in a building named Shanta Bhawan. According to municipal officials, the fire has been brought under control.
According to Dr. Mugdha, CMO of Nanavati Hospital, information was received about six people being injured. Of these, two were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. The deceased have been identified as two-and-a-half-year-old Abeer and 23-year-old Ankita.

Fire reached from Level-1 to Level-2
Mumbai Fire Brigade declared the fire as Level-1, meaning minor fire, at 10:08 PM. At 10:16 PM, it was upgraded to Level-2, meaning a medium-level fire.
Officials stated that the cause of the fire could not be ascertained. Fire Brigade, police, the local electricity supply company, ambulance services, and BMC ward staff reached the spot to extinguish the fire. The cooling operation continued late into the night.
Approximately 10-15 people remained trapped on the building’s roof for about 3 hours but were later safely rescued.
