Different forms of protests are being seen at Jantar Mantar. People of all ages are taking part in the movement. On Friday night, a two-year-old child was seen at the protest site. The child’s parents brought him to Jantar Mantar dressed like Mahatma Gandhi.
Sonam Wangchuk releases video message
Sonam Wangchuk released another video message at 10:53 pm on Friday. He said that he had lost 11 kg after staying on hunger strike for 26 days. He asked whether he needed to get a “character certificate” from anyone to prove how genuine his hunger strike was.
He said, “Do I have to answer why I ended the hunger strike at their hands or what deal was made? Many people have told me that questions are being raised about why I allowed Union ministers to end my hunger strike. If I had wanted to make a deal, would I have stayed hungry for 26 days?”
Candle March on Jantar Mantar
Late on Friday night, protesters held a candlelight march at Jantar Mantar. They were seen carrying posters in their hands. They also displayed the shoes and slippers left behind by protesters who remained after the police lathi charge during the Parliament march on July 20.
