MUMBAI — In a milestone celebration of youth leadership and extraordinary talent, eight-year-old world record holder Rudhran Rishab Halwai has been officially nominated for the prestigious Bharat Shreshtha Ratna Sanman (BSRS) at the upcoming India Republic Times – Leadership Conclave Mumbai 2026.
The nomination recognizes Rudhran’s remarkable contributions in the fields of Sports and Art & Culture, placing him among the youngest nominees in the history of the national honors platform.
A Strong Foundation of Family Mentorship
Behind Rudhran’s groundbreaking success lies an unwavering family support system. Guided by his father, Rishab Halwai, and his mother, Prina Halwai, Rudhran has built strong habits of focus, resilience, and early learning. Rudhran credits his father as a constant driving force who regularly motivates him to aim for excellence, teaches him to view challenges constructively, and instills the discipline needed to master multiple complex disciplines simultaneously.
A Trailblazer in Multidisciplinary World Records
Rudhran, a student at Mainadevi Bajaj International School in Mumbai, has continuously pushed boundaries in physical endurance, memory mastery, and creative performing arts. Over the past few years, he has established an array of global benchmarks documented by the International Book of Records.
Among his key accolades is the world record for the “longest time to hold the Chakrasana pose by a kid,” maintaining the demanding posture for 3 minutes and 6 seconds. Demonstrating equal prowess in cognitive focus, Rudhran also set a sports record for the “fastest time to arrange chessmen on a chessboard blindfolded,” completing the complex mental task in 2 minutes and 14 seconds.
His versatility expands into creative performance. Holding the record for performing the maximum number of different activities non-stop, Rudhran seamlessly transitions across gymnastics, Rubik’s cube assembly, keyboard, tabla, Kung Fu, and Shloka recitations in a single sequence. Additionally, his musical acuity earned him the global record for playing five distinct tune styles on an electronic keyboard.
Artistic Innovation and National Pride
Beyond individual performances, Rudhran has channeled his skills toward large-scale social art projects. As part of a collaborative team, he helped build a mosaic portrait using 2,014 Rubik’s cubes to celebrate Indian national heroes, alongside crafted mosaic portraits honoring icons like Ratan Tata and astronaut Sunita Williams.
His continuous pursuit of excellence has won him accolades from prominent national figures. He was honored with the “Shining Star” title by Padma Shri awardee and India’s first Paralympic Gold Medalist Murlikant Petkar, felicitated by Indian Women’s Cricket Vice-Captain Smriti Mandhana, and commended by former NCB Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede (IRS) for securing maximum world records across multiple disciplines.
