
A private company’s trainer plane crashed at Baramati Airport on Sunday afternoon. The accident occurred a short distance from the runway inside the airport premises. No casualties have been reported. The plane was damaged.
According to the police, the accident occurred near the airstrip at around 12:30 pm. An investigation is currently underway to determine whether the plane developed a technical fault or whether there was another problem. An official said it would be too early to comment on the cause of the accident.
This is the second plane crash at Baramati Airport in around seven months. On January 28 this year, a plane carrying then Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar also crashed while landing at the same airport. Ajit Pawar and four others were killed in the accident.
Pravin Darekar’s reaction
BJP leader Pravin Darekar has reacted to the plane crash. He said that such incidents are occurring repeatedly. The government will certainly take the matter seriously and investigate whether the incident was caused by a technical fault or some other reason. He also said that passengers should exercise caution while travelling on such flights. He was speaking to a news channel.
