PM Modi on Wednesday discussed over breakfast at his residence with around 37 newly elected BJP Rajya Sabha MPs and those who came from other parties.

PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday discussed over breakfast at his residence with approximately 37 newly elected Rajya Sabha MPs from the BJP and other parties. Leaders who recently joined the BJP from the Aam Aadmi Party and Trinamool Congress were also present at this meeting.

The PM provided guidance to the MPs about political philosophy, parliamentary ethics, and personal conduct.

According to sources, the conversation was quite cordial, in which the PM also answered questions from the MPs. The PM advised MPs to step out of Delhi’s political circle. He said they should not remain confined only to Lutyens’ Delhi.

Exercise caution on letterheads and social media

PM Modi cautioned the MPs to be mindful of whom they are meeting and sitting with in Delhi. He said to use letterheads and conduct themselves very carefully. He also advised MPs to be very vigilant on social media and TV.

The PM said that do not say anything wrong on TV and maintain complete dignity at all times. He asked MPs to remain active on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter), connect with youth and highlight the government’s welfare schemes. Along with this, he also suggested encouraging youth to participate in sports activities.

Dignity and restraint necessary in Parliament

On the tensions that occur during parliamentary debates, the PM said not to take the concerns inside the House outside. He said that the atmosphere of the House can sometimes be tense, but you should not carry it with you. There is no need to shout or speak in anger. You all know the party line, so present your point calmly on every issue.

The PM advised MPs to know members of both the ruling party and the opposition. He said that you should know who your colleagues are in the House. He also encouraged MPs to spend at least one or two hours every day in the Parliament library.

The mantra of yoga and time management

When MPs asked the PM about the secret to handling his busy schedule and responsibilities, he said, “I live in the present. Right now I am talking to all of you, so I am only here.” He advised MPs to stay in the present and work for a better future for the country.

Sharing his routine, the PM said, “I sleep only 3.5 hours, but I always do yoga, which helps me work properly. All of you should adopt a healthy lifestyle and do yoga daily.”

MPs shared their experiences

After the meeting, BJP MP Ashok Mittal said that the PM advised them to listen carefully and speak politely to connect with the youth. MP Vikramjit Singh Sahni said that the PM emphasized taking Parliament seriously and running it smoothly.

BJP MP Rahul Sinha said that the PM listened to all of us and gave important guidance. MP Sushmita Dev said that the PM described Parliament as a university, where leaders should learn from each other. BJP leader Tarun Chugh said that the PM taught a lesson on maintaining dignity in public life by rising above party politics.
